Principle Of Operation:

The 8000 series of oxygen permeation analyzers utilizes our proprietary Coulometric sensor technology to detect oxygen transmission rates (OTR) through flat film barriers, PET bottles and various kinds of packages

Samples are clamped or attached to a diffusion chamber.  Pure oxygen (99.9%( is then introduced into the upper half of the chamber while an oxygen-free carrier gas flows through the lower half.

Molecules of oxygen diffusing through the sample into the lower chamber are conveyed to the sensor by the carrier gas.   This allows a direct measurement of the oxygen without using complex extrapolations.  Oxygen transmission rate of the test sample is display as either cc/m2/day, cc/100in2/day or cc/package/day
 
 

Model 8001 is designed specifically for trace oxygen permeation analysis of packaging barrier films. The 8001 is both modular and extremely flexible.  The Model 8001 provides the widest oxygen permeation measurement range on the market today.  It has standard features such as precise temperature and precise humidity control and both dry and wet samples may be run. Both films and packages may be tested.  It is modular in design and up to 5 expansion modules may be added.

Model 8002  Oxygen Permeation Analyzer has all the features of the 8001 with the exception of precise humidity control.  The 8002 is designed for those laboratories that only require the running of dry and wet samples.  The full range of temperature is available and samples are run either dry or saturated (assumed 100%).
 
 

Model 8003 Oxygen Permeation Analyzer is for the laboratory that does not have a requirement to test wet samples.  This instrument is for dry analysis only but has all the other features of the Model 8001.
 
 

Model 8200 Oxygen Permeation Analyzer is designed for those companies that test only packages, such as PET bottles.  It has the same accuracy and ease of operation as the 8001,  but it is an economical choice for PET bottle analysis.  PET bottles are attached to the instrument, and an oxygen-free carrier gas flows through the inside of the bottle picking up the oxygen that permeates through the PET material, enabling simple and precise measurement.

Model 8501 offers a cost effective solution for those who need accurate, uncomplicated measurement of oxygen transmission rates (OTR) through permeable films
