To use the Illinois Instruments‘ Head Space Analyser, simply insert the needle to the Head Space Analyser into the package and press analyze on the front panel of the Head Space Analyser.  The Head Space Analyser automatically turns on its internal sampling pump, takes a sample, and displays the reading within a few seconds.  Oxygen and carbon dioxide levels from 0-100% can be measured.
