Trace Moisture Analyzers |
The
Model
510 P2O5 Trace Moisture Analyzer by Illinois Instruments uses
a phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5) sensor to accurately measure moisture from
0-1000 parts-per-million (ppm) in inert gas streams. The P2O5 sensor
technology is preferred for its accuracy at low levels. The P2O5
sensor also does not require any calibration.
The P2O5 sensor is an electrolytic sensor.
P2O5 coats a dual platinum winding in which a known current passes through.
Water molecules are absorbed into the P2O5 and hit the electric current.
The water molecules break apart into oxygen and hydrogen. The breaking
apart of the molecules consumes some amount of the electric current that
can be measured by the resistance across the platinum windings. The
P2O5 sensor theory follows Faraday’s Law which basically states that it
takes a known amount of energy to break a given molecular bond.
The Series 500 P2O5 Trace Moisture Analyzer
can be configured in a variety of ways to suit your specific application.
It is available as a benchtop/panel mountable cabinet, a NEMA 4X wall mount
cabinet, or in a 19 inch rack mountable cabinet. In addition, the
P2O5 trace moisture analyzer can have a remote mounted sensor for general
purpose areas.
Illinois Instruments'
Series 500 Moisture Analyzers represent
our latest advancement in moisture analysis. This series was designed to
be customized to your application while providing a simple, yet affordable
analyzer. The Series 500 Moisture Analyzers incorporates
microprocessor control with our high quality electrolytic moisture sensor
to bring flexibility to your process environment. These analyzers provide
accurate depend-able results over a wide range from 0.1 ppm to 1000 ppm.
All
models feature microprocessor control for stable and repeatable operation.
A bright, autoranging LED display provides direct measurement output. User-adjustable
alarms, scaleable analog output signals, RS232 interfacing, and process
sample bypass flow systems are all optionally available.
Three
different configurations add to the base Model
510 (shown at right) to offer the choices
needed to satisfy virtually all industrial environment and operational
constraints.
